Superstitious Pigeon

ABOUT BRUCE

Bruce is a retired physicist. We had many conversations about cause and effect, why things happen, and superstition. We had some hilarious chats about why you should never grow a beard, a friend who keeps his OBE in the cutlery drawer, and  a fragment of a song he had written called “Factory Man”.

Bruce had also written a philosophical paper called: “The Problem of God: the musings of a mediocre algebraist.”  He references a scientific paper by the behaviourist Skinner, “ Superstition in the Pigeon”

Bruce has a front room full of musical instruments he can’t play. I thought it might be fun to pop round his house and play the collaborative song, “The Superstitious Pigeon”, in his back garden. Join in the chorus.

Bruce’s Lucky Pebble

Well, I left the house this morning,

I touched my lucky pebble twice.

I don’t why I do it,

But its texture sure feels nice.
