Until I Find You / Hasta encontrarte is a new theatre piece from Ad Infinitum and Mexican company El Ingenio del Caldero, examining the disturbing phenomenon of forced disappearances in Mexico. Developed in Ad Infinitum’s signature physical style, this one-woman show unfolds the journey of a mother slowly fading away in a search for her disappeared daughter, and the transformation she undergoes as she learns to live in a state of neverending loss.
The show will premiere at Teatro UNAM in Mexico City in October 2024, before touring in Mexico and in the UK in the future.
This is the fourth creative collaboration between Nir Paldi, Co-Artistic Director for Ad Infinitum and Vicky Araico, director of El Ingenio del Caldero. Previously, they have created multi-award-winning theatre productions exploring different forms of social injustice which have toured extensively to theatres in the UK, Mexico and around the world, including the Fringe First award-winning ‘Juana in a Million’ (2012) and Offie award-winning ‘Bucket List’ (2016).
PODCAST
UNTIL I FIND YOU / Hasta encontrarte is a two-part podcast about the experiences of thousands of families in Mexico whose loved ones have been forcibly disappeared.
When someone goes missing and is believed to have been abducted, families must battle against a culture of apathy, victim blaming, and state corruption to get the help they need. In UNTIL I FIND YOU, we hear the stories of searching mothers and sisters, and the people who support them to find their loved ones.
This podcast is avaiable to listen to on our website or on Apple Podcasts and Spotify. Episodes are available in both English and Spanish.
