Briony Bax is an editor, poet and social activist and was the Editor of Ambit Magazine, the literary and art quarterly from 2013-2021. She has been published in many poetry journals including Ambit, Herrings Anthology, Fenland Journal, Meat and was a featured poet in ‘Poetry in Motion’ in Los Angeles and a commissioned poet for The Museum of Human Kindness in Wells-Next-The-Sea in Summer 2021. Her pamphlet ‘Lament’ was published By Rough Trade Press in 2020 and her first play ‘St Saviours’ based on her work in Kenya was shortlisted by the Traverse Theatre for their development program. She is former Poetry Editor of The New European newspaper and a Board Member of The Orphan Support League, Ad Infinitum and Saidia Children’s Charity Kenya.
After having lived in the United States for 25 years she now spends her time in the wilds of North Norfolk where she is Chair of Brancaster Parish Council.
