Ad Infinitum is looking for a creative, strategic and ambitious Executive Director. Following joining the Arts Council National Portfolio in 2023, we are now in an exciting period of growth and transformation including strategic development, furthering international partnerships, and innovative environmental touring practice.
The Executive Director will have a real, measurable impact on the next stage of Ad Infinitum’s journey. This is an opportunity for an imaginative, resourceful and collaborative arts leader to join us as we transform and strengthen our work.

We are currently part of three exciting international cohorts, including the Creating Transformation programme, ITER 4: Advancing Sustainable International Touring programme and the Here and Now Showcase.
The Executive Director will lead the strategic direction of the organisation and maximise its potential through diversifying income streams, navigating risk and securing partnerships.
We are open to receiving applications from people currently holding different kinds of roles. You may be returning to work after a period of parental leave and would prefer to work part-time. You might be a General Manager, a Senior Producer, an Operations Manager, Head of Development or an Executive Director. You might be working freelance or PAYE, for a venue or an independent organisation - we’d love to hear from you.

KEY INFORMATION ABOUT THE ROLE
Salary: £42,000 - £44,000 per annum, depending on experience (£33,600 - £35,200 pro rata)
Contract type: Permanent, part time - 32 hours per week. Some evening and weekend work might be required.
Responsible to: Ad Infinitum Co-Artistic Directors
Pension: NEST pension, employer contributions 3% of salary.
Hours of work: 4 days a week (0.8 FTE) (the organisation’s working hours are 09:30 - 17:30 but we offer flexible working hours and are open to conversations about how the hours could be split across the week). We operate a TOIL system.
Place of work: Hybrid working. Ad Infinitum is based in Bristol and does not currently have a physical office. Attendance at some meetings in central Bristol is required, but we can be flexible with the frequency and pattern and are happy to discuss this with candidates.
Access: We are committed to creating a more diverse and representative arts sector and will work to provide access support or arrangements that are required for you to undertake this role effectively.
Annual Leave: 22 days plus bank holidays per annum (17.6 days plus 8 bank holidays pro rata). Following two years in the organisation this will increase to 23 days pro rata and following four years of service will increase to 24 days pro rata.

Founded in 2007, we embrace difference through collaboration, enabling a more representative theatre culture to exist by placing those minoritised by society at the heart of our work.
Our wide-reaching programme includes creating new theatre productions with national and international collaborators; supporting diverse and underrepresented creatives through our Artist Development Programme; touring critically acclaimed productions from our portfolio; and delivering inspiring Learning and Engagement activities with children and young people.

We will aim to shortlist and send invitations to interview by 7 October. First round interviews will be held on Monday 13 October. Second round interviews will be held on Tuesday 21 October. We will appoint by 24 October 2025 to start as soon as possible. If you are successful then we will collect two references after the second round interviews and contact them with your permission.
Interviews will be in-person in Bristol and we will cover reasonable travel expenses for travel from outside of Bristol. Both rounds of interviews will be with a panel made up of team and board members from Ad Infinitum.
