Introducing Ad Infinitum Studio

We’re excited to share that from March 2026, Ad Infinitum will be taking on a new rehearsal and office space at St Anne’s House, Bristol, which will become our new creative home and working base.

This feels like a significant and joyful moment for us. For the past ten years Bristol has been home to Ad Infinitum - a place where our practice has deepened, our community has grown, and our thinking has shifted. During that time, we’ve largely worked without a permanent base, moving between rehearsal rooms, venues, and international contexts. That mobility has shaped who we are and how we work. Alongside it, though, we’ve long wanted a physical home: somewhere that holds our values; supports artists, children and young people; and offers a consistent environment for collaborative making: for listening, learning, and exchange.

This space has a recent history shaped by the excellent work of MAYK, a Bristol-based organisation whose programme championed artists and supported the making of new work in the city. As we take it on, we’re committed to continuing that focus, ensuring the space supports artists making work in Bristol.

We’re taking this step at a complex moment. Against a backdrop of war, polarisation, and ongoing uncertainty, at a time when artists are also navigating a particularly challenging funding landscape, our work has increasingly focused on empathy, care, and connection: on how art can help reduce pain and suffering, hold space for trauma, and bring people together around difficult, often untold, stories. We believe deeply in the power of collective reflection, and in the role artists can play in helping us imagine more connected ways of being.

Ad Infinitum Studio marks a moment of transformation for the company. As we approach our 20th year in 2027, the Studio allows us to root our work more deeply while remaining outward-looking and international. It will be an artist-led space that brings people together across perspectives and experiences, supporting connection and care in a time of division and uncertainty.

Looking ahead, our ambition is for the Studio to grow into a centre for peace and the arts in Bristol - built slowly, responsibly, and in relationship with others. A place that is distinctly us, rooted in the leadership of historically marginalised artists and communities, and open to all; creating space for reflection, collective healing, making, and being together.

We feel grateful to be able to offer a physical space at this moment, and to our brilliant Board whose care, rigour, and belief in the work enable us to take bold steps, even when the waters feel choppy. If you’re interested in using the Ad Infinitum Studio - whether for rehearsal hire, training, or other activity - or if you’d like to connect, collaborate, find out more, or support what we’re building, please follow the links below to find further information and contact details.
