Shruti is a freelance Graphic designer, Illustrator and Muralist based in North Somerset. She has a Bachelors degree in Applied Art and worked as a Commercial artist in Mumbai for several years. When she picked up a paint brush again a few years ago it was to paint murals. Shruti’s murals came about through a love of painting and aesthetic in art and design. She loves incorporating the strong women form into her murals but sometimes the brief can be limiting which she tries to then capture in her digital art. Details are an important element in her illustrations and she loves adding depth to the artwork by including lots of extra little elements, even if they’re small and subtle. Her work often depicts vivid scenes, vibrant colours, patterns and lots of foliage.

Like most artists Shruti is driven by an innate, compulsive desire to create. She believes practising more disciplines help her better understand the core mechanics of art and design. Be it a water colour or a cross-hatch portrait, a typographical illustration or a digital design composition, a botanical drawing or a thumb-sketch for a mural, theres always something new to explore  everyday.
