Introducing Ife Grillo and Tracy Gillman - our first Associate Collaborators!

We’re delighted to announce Ife Grillo and Tracy Gillman as our first R&D Associate Collaborators - two brilliant theatre artists and thinkers who will work with us to co-create and help realise the development of our new Associate Collaborator programme.

Following call outs in 2021 for artists based in the North East and South West, Ife and Tracy will work with us, and our partners Northern Stage and Tobacco Factory Theatres, to explore and test how our organisations, and the sector, can develop and provoke change by listening to the voices of creatives who are underrepresented in the arts.

Over the coming weeks and months we’ll talk, think and experiment, together and with other artists, to dream big and decide the future path of the programme. Tracy will also be collecting and shaping stories from working class communities with lived experience of care for older people in the North East to inform the creative development of our next major production, The Long Lie.

We’re thrilled to be working with two such exciting creatives to explore how we can create a more representative, more equitable, more inclusive cultural ecology.

Let’s get started.

DEVISING COMPANY FOR THE LONG LIE

We’re thrilled to introduce you to the devising company of The Long Lie (working title).

We are collaborating with six incredible artists: Clive Duncan, Elisabeth Gunawan, Jonathan Hawkins, Kirris Riviere, Heather Williams and Robin Paley Yorke.

This month we've started rehearsals for The Long Lie (working title) which is examining care for older adults. We're bringing together artists, communities, charity partners & audiences to explore unheard stories on this universal and hugely important subject.

This project is made possible with the generous support of Arts Council England, and our commissioning partners Northern Stage, Corn Exchange Newbury, HOME, Birmingham Hippodrome, Bristol Old Vic, The North Wall and Tobacco Factory Theatres.

BSL (British Sign Language) Courses

We’re delighted to be organising another BSL Level 1 Course led by the brilliant tutor John Mancini. This course is for artists, creatives, producers and staff working at cultural organisations.

Some feedback from previous BSL courses led by John that we have run:

“I really can't find any fault with the BSL L1 course;  it was tremendous. The lessons were incredibly intensive and immersive,  but also very manageably paced (with regular breaks, which were  essential!) and crucially it was a lot of fun. The teaching from John was simply superb”

“I thought the course was totally great! Really helpful to learn a related skill but with a bunch of theatre peeps!”

“There's very limited availability of intensive courses like this, and with my irregular work patterns it's hard to commit to an entire term of evening classes, so I really appreciate Ad Infinitum putting it on”

At the end of the course there is the option to take a nationally-recognised qualification from the exam board Signature.

COSTS

The cost of this course is £220 per person. The assessment at the end of the course is optional, and will be an additional £114.

The course will run from Monday 2nd - Friday 6th October, 9:30am - 4:30pm each day.

The course will be held in-person at Watershed, 1 Canons Road, Harbourside, Bristol, BS1 5TX. Click here to find out more information about the venue.

HOW TO BOOK

If you would like more information about the course or want to book a place then please email mia@ad-infinitum.org.

CANCELLATION POLICY

If you need to cancel for any reason our refund policy is as follows:

We will do our best to fill your place with someone else, and if this is possible then we will look to offer you a full refund, minus the assessment fee which cannot be refunded.
